Renowned Scholar and Islamic Jurist
 Imam Ali (a.s.) was the cousin and son-in-law of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He is the first Imam in Shia Islam and the fourth Caliph in Sunni Islam.
 Imam Ali (a.s.) was born on the 13th of Rajab, 601 AD, inside the Holy Kaaba in Mecca.
 His father was Abu Talib(a.s) the uncle of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and his mother was Fatimah bint Asad(s.a)
 Imam Ali (a.s.) was a close companion of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), known for his bravery and wisdom. He participated in many battles, was a key figure in the early Muslim community, and played a significant role in the spread of Islam.
 Imam Ali (a.s.) was married to Fatimah (s.a), the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
 Imam Ali (a.s.) is known for his just and fair governance, his compilation of sermons, letters, and sayings in Nahjul Balagha, and his contributions to Islamic jurisprudence and theology.
 Imam Ali (a.s.) became the Caliph in 656 AD, following the assassination of the third Caliph, Uthman ibn Affan(r.a)
 Imam Ali (a.s.) was assassinated on the 21st of Ramadan, 661 AD, while praying in the Great Mosque of Kufa. He was struck with a poisoned sword by Ibn Muljam, a Kharijite.
 Imam Ali (a.s.) is buried in the Imam Ali Shrine in Najaf, Iraq.

 The Battle of Siffin was a conflict between Imam Ali (a.s.) and Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan, the governor of Syria, in 657 AD. It ended in arbitration, which led to political fragmentation and the rise of the Kharijites.
 The Battle of Nahrawan was fought between Imam Ali (a.s.) and the Kharijites, a rebellious group that had split from his army after the Battle of Siffin. Imam Ali (a.s.) defeated the Kharijites in 658 AD.
 Imam Ali (a.s.) was known for his deep knowledge of the Quran and Hadith. He established principles of justice, equality, and the rights of individuals, influencing Islamic law significantly.
 Imam Ali (a.s.) was known for his just treatment of all people, including non-Muslims and minorities. He emphasized the importance of justice and equality for all citizens, regardless of their faith.
 Imam Ali (a.s.) believed in the equitable distribution of wealth and advocated for the support of the poor and needy. He lived a simple and humble life, often giving away his possessions to help others.
 One of Imam Ali (a.s.)’s famous sayings is, “Knowledge enlivens the soul,” highlighting the importance he placed on the pursuit of knowledge and education.
 At Ghadir Khumm, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) declared, “For whoever I am his leader (mawla), Ali is his leader (mawla),” which Shia Muslims believe to be the appointment of Imam Ali (a.s.) as the Prophet’s successor.
 Imam Ali (a.s.) is regarded as a spiritual guide and a source of inspiration in Sufism. Many Sufi orders trace their spiritual lineage back to him, considering him the first Sufi and a paragon of piety and spirituality.
 The Sermon of Shaqshaqiya, found in Nahjul Balagha, is a famous speech by Imam Ali (a.s.) where he expresses his grievances about the caliphate’s usurpation and his rightful place as the leader of the Muslim community.
 Imam Ali (a.s.) emphasized justice, equality, and service to the people. He believed that leaders should live modestly, be accessible to their subjects, and prioritize the welfare of the community.
