Key Events in the Life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
 Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), was born in Mecca, in present-day Saudi Arabia, in the year 570 CE.
 He(pbuh) ,belonged to the Quraysh tribe.
 His father was Abdullah ibn Abdul-Muttalib (a.s), and his mother was Amina bint Wahb(s.a),.
 The Hijra refers to Prophet Muhammad’s(pbuh), migration from Mecca to Medina in 622 CE. This event marks the beginning of the Islamic calendar.
 The first revelation was the beginning of Surah Al-Alaq; received in the Cave of Hira on the Mountain of Light (Jabal al-Nour).
 The holy book is the Quran;(Revelated on him pbuh)
 His first wife was Khadijah bint Khuwaylid.(s.a);
 The Battle of Badr, which took place in 624 CE.;
 He (pbuh) passed away at the age of 63 ,in 632 CE and is buried in the Prophet’s Mosque (Al-Masjid an-Nabawi) in Medina.
 The Farewell Sermon (Khutbah al-Wada’), delivered during his last pilgrimage, in 632 CE.
 Angel Jibril (Gabriel a.s) used to bring every sacred and holy information on behalf of Allah to you(pbuh).
 Whatever prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said; known as Hadith.
 Mecca is the birthplace of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), the site of the Kaaba, and the holiest city in Islam where Muslims perform the Hajj; pilgrimage.
 The Quba Mosque, built shortly after his (pbuh);arrival in Medina.
 The Battle of the Trench (Ghazwat al-Khandaq); in 627 CE.
 Laylat al-Qadr ,(the Night of Decree), during the month of Ramadan.
 Abdul-Muttalib (a.s), was his (pbuh) father.
 Halimah al-Sa’diyah (s.a) , was his (pbuh) mother.
 The mountain where Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) ,received his first revelation is known as “Mount Hira”.
 The title given to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) ;due to his trustworthy nature, before his prophethood was Al-Amin; (The Trustworthy).
 The miraculous event where Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), split the moon into two parts was the Splitting of the Moon, (Shaqq al-Qamar).
 King Negus (Najashi) of Abyssinia ,was the Ethiopian king that gave refuge to early Muslim converts fleeing persecution in Mecca.
 The Conquest of Mecca in 630 CE.
 Bilal ibn Rabah , was the slave freed by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) , and later became one of the most famous muezzins in Islamic history.
 The Cave of Thawr is the name of the place where Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), rested during his migration (Hijra) from Mecca to Medina.
 Jinabi Fatimah Zehra (s.a) is a daughter of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) , who  married to  Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s).(Father’s cousin).
 Angel Jibril (Gabriel a.s), is the name of the angel who appeared to Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and informed him that he was chosen as a prophet.
 Zayd ibn Harithah , was the first slave to convert to Islam.
 The Year of Sorrow (Am al-Huzn) was the year  in which both Prophet Muhammad’s (pbuh), wife Khadijah(s.a) and his uncle Abu Talib (a.s) passed away.
