- Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) was the son of Imam Ali (a.s.) and Fatimah bint Hizam (Mother ) also known as Ummul Banin. He was the half-brother of Imam Hussain (a.s.) and is revered for his loyalty, bravery, and sacrifice in the Battle of Karbala.His full name is Abbas ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib(a.s).
- Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) was born on 4th Sha’ban, 26 AH (approximately May 15, 647 CE) in Medina, Saudi Arabia.His most famous title is “Qamar Bani Hashim,” which means “The Moon of the Hashim Clan,” symbolizing his exceptional beauty and noble character.
- Hazrat Abbas (a.s.) served as the standard-bearer for Imam Hussain (a.s.) and was known for his bravery and loyalty. He made significant efforts to fetch water from the Euphrates River for the thirsty children and women of Imam Hussain’s (a.s) camp, ultimately sacrificing his life in the process.
